When we moved into the house the baseboards in the basement were painted a pretty brown but the walls were all left white. I really wanted to paint the master bedroom because it’ll feel even more like a sanctuary. I spent one night taping up the walls and moving the bed to the center and as much other furniture I could possibly move (along with DH, of course). And I learned it’s a rather large room. It took several hours to paint, but we managed to get the room put (mostly) back together tonight so I could snap a photo to show everyone!
Here’s what it looked like before.

And with a new comforter (and no curtains as they were being washed…though I’d like to buy some new ones) is the master bedroom after painting.
I plan to paint the kitchen and eating area this week. If I feel well enough I’ll finish the eating area before the kids come home on Wednesday & Thursday and the kitchen over the weekend when they go to the lake with their dad. Then I’m planning to take a break from painting until I’m back from the beach in mid-August! I will be down to doing the family room, the spare bedroom and my office! I need to weed the front yard…any chance for some 80-degree days this week? Hey, I can dream!
So I managed the eating area, too, but I can barely move now. Wow. Anyway, here’s the photos from that. I will, however, finish the kitchen sometime over the weekend but after that I’m totally taking a painting break!! Here’s a before and after picture for you!

Wow! Love the before and after! I’m such a home improvement geek! Can’t wait to own a home again someday and do the very same
Your bedroom looks like a sanctuary — very calm and soothing, which is just how I like bedrooms to be. I really like that blue and it looks great with the brown trimwork.
Nice job! I love them! I’ve been painting my condo as well, but I’m not finished yet. I’m excited to post photos once I’m done!
